Collaboration is key
The lesson that stood out to me the most in Chapter 2 was the collaboration tools. Thinking back, everytime I had to get advice or a suggestion on a document I was creating, I would email the document back and forth between editors. It would end up with confusing naming conventions such as "Draft4" and Draft4Final." The Applied Labs on TestOut were the most complicated for me because I never used these features. I'm going to go back to master this section because I found it very useful. When I have to edit a document for work, I can just give access to the individuals who I want to look over the document instead of going back-and-forth with countless drafts as I used to do.

So pleased to hear you want to go back and 2.4.3 Collaboration Tools so you better collaborate with editors :-)
ReplyDeleteNo more countless drafts but everyone involved edit a singular document with your managing access to that document, excellent!
I found it useful too. I honestly use Google Drive the most. At work, most of the shared documents we work with are being worked in Google Docs where sharing is a bit simpler than the way Microsoft Word allows you to do it. But after this chapter, I've learned something new and very helpful.
ReplyDeleteVery true. Like Ani, I use Google Docs to share documents at work. I personally use OneDrive the most. I find it super helpful in managing my documents.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree, this tool is very helpful. Creating drafts and final drafts within an email is very helpful when creating an important email. I actually use this tool when emailing important documents and normal emails to professors or my boss.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest i am struggling with that section myself but I am willing to go back and try it again and again till i get it.
ReplyDeleteLabSims definitely is useful in teaching us new things! I also forgot how to rename my files. Such a useful site!
ReplyDeleteI use collaboration tools every day and agree that it has definitely eliminated the confusion of file names like "Draft4Final."
ReplyDeleteThis was honestly the first time I was introduced to this feature as well. For future collaborative efforts, this will be especially helpful. This gives much-needed flexibility for big projects with deadlines.
ReplyDeleteI had used the sharing features, some times in high school mostly in google docs and drive for group project but I remember someone sent the group their final draft because the did not see they were added.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is true; this tool is very useful, and having learned it will undoubtedly be beneficial for the future.
